David takes a plunge (almost) or an almost new, very fast bed

Last night, I walked in on David almost making it over the crib rail. So the search was on for a toddler bed. After a quick search of craigslist.org we came up with a few options. We ended up with the Step2 Stock Car Convertible Bed.

David helped disassemble the crib and assemble the new bed. It took a little re-arranging, but the new bed finally fit!

Christmas with Cousin Jackie

Saturday, December 26, 2009
Aunt Mandy, Uncle Cris and Cousins Jackie and Alice made the road trip down from Waterville, OH, to visit for a slightly belated Christmas. Everyone enjoyed playing an opening presents:
Jackie's puppets by Folkmanis were a big hit!

Aunt Mandy, Uncle Cris and Cousins Jackie and Alice made the road trip down from Waterville, OH, to visit for a slightly belated Christmas. As usual, there was much playing to be had.

Christmas Eve

It was close, but David awoke from his late afternoon nap and we made it to the family service at church. There were lots of toddlers there. We sat with the Schlises and Sarah shared a diapered bear with David. We were pleasantly surprised in that David went up front for the children's moment and then left with the group. He returned dressed as an angel for the manger scene. He did a great job and "socialized" very well; no crying or wigging out when he left us.... He is growing up on us.

Almost Christmas!

What a fun day! Jamie and her family took David bowling; and, he had a great time cheering everyone on. Bumpers and ramps are cool tools to help a 2 year old bowl.

Andy got out of work a little early and swooped David off to a hair cut and a visit to ...... wait for it .... Santa! David worked on saying "Santa," "Ho ho ho," "Merry Christmas," and "Choo choo Train."
He got all excited when Santa came out from feeding the reindeer. He did really good on Santa's lap; he was a little enamored with the reindeer next to Santa's chair at first, but he finally had a nice conversation with Santa on the topic of trains.

Uncle Art's & Aunt June's Basement is soooo Cool!

We made it Youngstown before lunch. David made the trip in his pajamas, and slept for a good half of the road trip.

Grandpa Joe passed on Saturday morning, going with Jesus on a new adventure.

We are very thankful for family and friends that stepped in to help us with the toddlers: Uncle Art, Aunt June, Aunt Bonnie, Aunt Michele, Aunt Janice, Uncle Kenny, and Grandma and Grandpa Ransdell.

Jackie and David enjoyed playing with Jordan and "the boys" in Uncle Art's and Aunt June's basement on Saturday.
Wendy and David spent most of the week in Youngstown while Andy ran back and forth to Dayton. It was a very long, short week....

Boys Night or 3, 2, 1, Here I come!

Friday, December 11, 2009
It was boys night. Wendy had already headed up to Youngstown to be with Aunt Mandy and Grandma Loralee, and to spend some time with Grandpa Joe.

David and Andy played; running hugs anyone?

Christmas, Take 1...

Tuesday, December 2, 2009
Gram Connie and Pa Don came out to celebrate Christmas. We had a nice time visiting (and opening presents):

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Thanksgiving weekend, 2009
Since Grandma and Grandpa couldn't make it to Dayton, we headed to Youngstown after Thanksgiving with Grandpa Ron.

Grandma Loralee took Andy, Cris, David and Jackie to Kraynak's to visit Santa's Christmasland while Mandy and Wendy visiting with Grandpa Joe at the hospital.

We saw several Christmas interpretations.
Sesame Street:
Jackie wanted to show Grandma everything!
We saw Rudolph; David wanted to pet his red nose:
Then we did a little shopping....

Overall, David was a good little guy. He is really learning to ham it up for photographs:
David went down to see Grandpa Joe. David was very excited to show Grandpa how to play Toddler Teasers Quizin on his iPod Touch.

After visiting Grandpa Joe, we joined the family at a celebration of Cousin Jason's baptism. The kids enjoyed their lunch, especially the fruit and macaroni and cheese. We got most of the kids to sit pretty still for a picture:
David was very happy to see Aunt Bonnie:
Then it was time to hit the road and head back to Dayton.

Time with Cousin Garland

Saturday, November 14, 2009
Cousin Garland (and Aunt Amy and Uncle Brian) invited David and Andy to join them for lunch at Chucky Cheese. David had fun playing and eating with Garland.

David is concentrating again:

After lunch, Garland came back to our house and we played all afternoon while Brian and Amy ran some errands. Everyone had a great time!

It may not be Grandma's, but Jackie is here!

Saturday, November 7, 2009
So we crashed at Mandy, Cris & Jackie's for the weekend. Cris and Andy took Jackie and David to play ground while Wendy and Mandy did a little shopping.
Everything was just fine and dandy until David fell through a climging rung and busted his lip. The girls came back and checked DJ out. He was fine.... Meanwhile, Jackie played nicely with a little boy who had come to the park with his sitter.

David is much more of a morning person than Jackie is:

The kids were eager to wake up Uncle Cris. Attack of the Tickle Monsters:The kids played and danced; and everyone had a great time:
