Trains!

Our friend Jered joined David and Andy for a visit to EnterTrainment Junction. In addition to the normal array of model trains and sets, it was Everything Thomas month; so Thomas and Friends were everywhere! In addition, Funhouse Junction was included in the ticket price.

Down and Out

David came down with a stomach bug overnight Friday. Wendy was on call, so David and I laid low at home watching movies and hanging out.

By late Sunday afternoon, David was finally back to himself.

David and Jackie spent the morning in monkey pajamas. They enjoyed playing with Grandma:

Wendy had to work Saturday morning. David and I spent some time terrorizing OPI and running errands. We were on the road North after lunch.

David and I setup a new train track layout:Lots of switches and a criss-cross so the the two engines zig-zag all over the place!

Wendy and I both got out of work early so we picked up David and headed home to play in the snow. After a short snow ball fight we built a snowman with a traditional carrot nose, but with animal cracker eyes and an almond mouth:David "made" a new friend:Then, David decided to chase me with a snowball (actually I started it by pelting David and Wendy with snowballs).


When we were done playing, we all came inside and made hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows. The hot chocolate on David's mouth expresses it all:

David was eager to play in the snow:
...but I made him help shovel the driveway and sidewalk first:
David actually said he was cold and asked to go inside:
Once we got inside, our little red faced man denied he had been cold and wanted to go back outside:

What a night...

We finally took the plunge and let David cry it out all night, no matter what. No more tucking him back in. He cried from 11:30 to 12:30 and again closer to one. The only big issue was around 12:15 when he successfully scaled the gate and we had to close his bedroom door to contain him. His comment this morning was "Mommy, Daddy, let me cry." We will try it again tonight; sooner or later he will go back to bed on his own without a fuss.

David crawled-up on Wendy and said, "Mommy, me sick."
It turned out he had a fever of 103.

Monday, February 1, 2010
Andy stayed home with David Monday. We watched UP, Bolt, and A Bugs Life.
By 1 PM, David was bouncing around the family room.
