We headed over to the Splash Park in Centerville to play for a while. We got there and David didn't want to play in the water, he just wanted to play on the playground. We had climbing and sliding. Then it was off to City Barbeque for dinner. It was a relaxing family night.

Car Day

We headed West on I-70. First stop was for some r&r at Golden Gate Park in Brookville, OH to play on their castle.
Then it was off to Brookville Roadster for their 1st ever Cruise In. Andy thinks the family needs one of these:
David thought this one was pretty cool:
Then we were off to Richmond, IN, to visit Veach's Toys. We did a little damage and headed home.
It was fairly hot, so David and Grandpa Ron played in the sprinkler out back:
Wendy could use some more time to herself, so the boys headed to Cruise to Burg in Miamisburg, OH.

We headed north of town to have dinner with one of Andy's High School friends. We met Jill, her dad, and her daughter and son, Jessica and Adam, at Max & Erma's. They were stopping on a trip East to meet family. It was fun to catch up a bit. David wanted to know if they were his "cousins." He was OK with them just being "new friends."

We had a very relaxing, beautiful day. We started off with a bicycle ride on which Grandma Loralee crashed; twice. Beyond a scraped knee, scraped elbow and torn pant leg, she was able to get back on and go for a short ride.
We headed off to the water park in Centerville to play and then to City Barbeque.
For dinner, we grilled steak and had our first, fresh Ohio sweet corn of the season. David put a dent in 1.5 ears. He would have eaten more if we hadn't run out:
"Must push in the corn holder...."
"Must get the very last kernels off the last ear of corn..."
We all had a very nice Father's Day.

We drove Wendy to Coshocton, OH, for a Bridal Shower. After we made sure the "girls" (sorry, "people" per David), the boys headed off to The Works in nearby Newark, OH. As the pictures show, it was fun; except for the one, huge poop accident and the pee accident and the little boy who didn't nap until we were 10 minutes away from home (after a 2+ hour drive).... If I didn't love him, I would strangle him. :)

We scored tickets to a Dragons baseball from a friend. They were great seats; 4th row directly behind home plate.
After 1/2 a hot dog, David wanted popcorn. He ate it, and ate it and ate it. He ate over 1/2 of this huge bag all on his own during the 6 innings we were at the game:
He also polished off 3 waters; ball park waters... "good-bye college fund."
"Hi Gem!"
"Play Ball !"
great action....
and more popcorn...
A little too much cheering for David:
By 8:45, it was a little past David's bedtime, so we headed out of the park:
It was a beautiful night, even at 9 PM and 85 degrees:

Columbus, Day 2 or Watch OUT !

We stayed over in Columbus Saturday night so we could visit COSI before heading home. We had a pleasant surprise! The exhibit "The Science of Big Machines" was setup on their back patio. David had a blast playing on, and with, "Big Machines."

It was getting warm, and we had played on every piece of heavy equipment, so we headed back inside. Time to fix the sink:

"Go Mommy; go Mommy"
